Mary Fallon Moran was born in Longford, Ireland on March 30, 1874. In 1895 at the age of 21, she emigrated to the United States; Mary married her husband Patrick Joseph Moran the following year in 1896. Initially the family lived in Coxsackie, New York where Patrick worked for his brothers-in-law as a part maker at the Kennedy Valve company. The family later moved to Brooklyn, New York and Patrick returned to his original profession of carpentry and worked for a railroad company. Mary and Patrick had five children - Mary (Drury), James, Christina (Ryan), Elizabeth, and Rita (Snyder). Elizabeth passed away as a child and Rita did not have any children; however, the three eldest married and had children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In 1924 Patrick and Mary travelled to Ireland with Rita to see family that they had not seen in almost 30 years. Patrick died a year later and Mary followed three years later, the day after her 54th birthday.
