Everett is my great uncle.
Mr. Haag died Monday (April 26, 1999) at Livingston Manor, rural Pontiac.
He was born June 28, 1910, in Cullom, the son of Leonard and Elizabeth Appel Haag.
Surviving are his wife, the former Maxine H. Hills, whom he married June 3, 1935, in Kankakee; one daughter, Sandra, one son, Howard Everett, one sister, Irene ''Sis'' Loud, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Six brothers, four sisters are deceased.
He was a 1928 graduate of Cullom High School and later graduated from the University of Illinois.
Mr. Haag was a basketball coach and business teacher. He had taught in Chebanse and later in Altamont.
He was an IRS agent for many years. He later owned his own tax service which he operated in Cullom, Saunemin, Kankakee and Chebanse.
Mr. Haag served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a commissioned officer in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
He was a member of the Skinner-Trost American Legion Post 122, Cullom.
