William Wesley Kendall
Birth: Aug. 31, 1839
Death: Aug. 14, 1920

Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a First Lieutenant in the Union Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a First Sergeant in Company A, 49th Indiana Infantry for action on May 17, 1863 at Black River Bridge, Mississippi. His citation reads "Voluntarily led the company in a charge and was the first to enter the enemy's works, taking a number of prisoners." (bio by: Don Morfe)
