JENNINGS — Funeral services for Mary Edna Veronie Chesley, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
The Rev. T.L. Herlong will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home.
Visitation is 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today, with Scripture services at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Monday.
Mrs. Chesley died at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, in a Jeff Davis care center.
A native of Basile, she was a resident of Jennings. She attended cosmetology school and Jeff Davis Votec School. She was the former manager of H&R Block of Jennings. She did tax preparation work for Carl Norton and for the Rev.
Waugespack for Immaculate Conception. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, and was grand region from 1977-79.
Survivors include one son, Andrus Woodson Chesley of Jennings; one daughter, Mrs. Jackie (Mary Louise) Taylor Sr. of Egan; two sisters, Clarise Cart of Iota and
Thelma Bassonatte of Sulphur; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
