Company H "Mt. Tabor Company" of Union County, 15th South Carolina Infantry, Kershaw's Brigade, Kershaw's Division, 1st Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence Mt. Tabor; 30 y.o. farmer.
Enlisted as a Private 9/1/1861, he mustered into "H" Co. SC 15th Infantry.
7/2/1863 Wounded, shell fragments in left hip in the Battle of Gettysburg, Pa.; POW; 7/7/1863 transferred to Ft. Delaware, DE.; exchanged 7/31/1863; 8/1/1863 Hospitalized South Carolina Hospital, Petersburg, Va.; returned 4/1864.
Killed In Action in the Battle of The Wilderness, Va.

The 15th Infantry Regiment completed its organization in September, 1861, at Lightwoodknot Springs, near Columbia, South Carolina. Its members were raised in the counties of Richland, Union, Lexington, Kershaw, Fairfield, and Williamsburg.
