PAULINE A. 'POLLY' ADAMSON, 81 ROSCOE - Pauline A. "Polly" Adamson, 81, of Roscoe died at 11:11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, after a sudden illness. Born Sept. 25, 1927, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Harry and Pauline (Halzel) Davies. Lived 33 years in Roscoe, coming here from Freeport. Married Lee Adamson on June 5, 1948, in Freeport. She was employed as a librarian by Talcott Library in Rockton, retiring in 1985. Member of St. Peter Catholic Church in South Beloit, Century Book Club, Rockton Women's Club and Young at Heart in Roscoe. Graduated from Aquin Catholic High School in Freeport. Survivors include husband, Lee Adamson of Roscoe; daughters, Susan (John) Witherspoon of Dayton, Ohio, and Patricia (David) Young of Rockford; son, Thomas (Lori) Adamson of San Antonio; grandchildren, Daniel and Andrew Young, Krista and Kyle Adamson; and brother, Richard Davies of Waukesha, Wis. Predeceased by parents; and one brother. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, in St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd., South Beloit, with Father Jerome Koutnik, pastor, officiating. Cremation rites to be accorded. Final resting place in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Talcott Library, 101 E Main St., Rockton, IL 61072.
