"Sarah Kibby (Andrews) was born near Greenupsville, Freemont Co.,Kentucky, July 26, 1830. When nine years of age she moved to Boone Co.,Missouri, remaining there until the year 1852 when in company with herparents, she crossed the plains by Ox-team and settled at Rickreall, Polk Co., Oregon. March 8th, 1854 she was married to James Andrews and to them were born 9 children, 3 of whom are deceased. The children living are: John A. Andrews, Barlow; Mary M. Ridgway, Newberg, Martha A. Smith,Portland, George W. Andrews, Tualitin; James D. Andrews, Reno, Nevada and Mrs. Ida L. Leighner of Newberg, at whose home Mrs. Andrews had been living. About the time of the marriage of the deceased, she became a Christian and united with the M.E. Church, South. She was firm in her faith and when it was known that she could not recover from her sickness,she expressed her willingness to go and be at rest and rejoiced in the privilage of having all her children with her at the last. She fell asleep in death, Feb 4th, 1912 at the age of 81 yrs, 6 months & 9 dys.Funeral Services were held at the Hollingsworth chapel Tuesday PM, byRev. Chas. O. Whitely of Friends Church. Buried at Newberg Cemetery."
