HAROLD LEONARD GEORGE DAUM

Harold Leonard George Daum, 76, a lifetime resident of Marysville, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at Heartland of Marysville after a nine-week battle with cancer.

He retired in 1980 after more than 30 years of dedicated service as a job setter with General Motors. After retirement, he operated Daum's Lawn Equipment from his home. He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and regularly attended the early morning Sunday service with his family. He became a member of the Heart of Ohio Fish and Game Club within the past year and enjoyed gardening and attending auctions and especially enjoyed playing euchre and pinochle. He took great pride in maintaining the appearance of his home and will be remembered as a jack-of-all-trades and a devoted family man.

He was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Marysville to the late George P. and Margaret Streng Daum and was predeceased by a great-grandson, Ronald Sidney Nicol; an infant twin sister; four brothers, Gerhardt, Leonard, George and Ray Daum; and four sisters, Lena McCarty, Ernestine Daum, Kathryn Heath and Clara Baltz.

He is survived by his wife of more than 55 years, Patty Jean Amrine Daum whom he married April 23, 1947, in Greenup, Ky.; a daughter, Linda (Ronald) Nicol of Great Falls, Mont.; a son, Danny (Joan) Daum of Marysville; four grandchildren, Julie (Kenneth) Dennis of Parkersburg, W.V., Ronald Matthew (Pam) Nicol and Stephanie Nicol of Great Falls, Mont., and Andrew Daum of Marysville; two great-grandsons, Floyd Dennis and Matthew Nicol; two brothers, Manuel Daum of Marysville and Ernest (Lena) Daum of Huntsville; a sister, Mary (Albert) Mabe of Powell; four sisters-in-law, Alice Reams of Prospect, Janet (Everett) Humble and Carolyn Amrine of Marysville and Carolyn Daum of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Richard (Evelyn) Amrine of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Revs. Renee Ahern and Steve Smithberger will officiate and burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the West Chapel at the Mannasmith-Hale Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church building fund in care of the funeral home.
