ELIZABETH FEIGHNER FUNERAL SERVICES SET FOR THURSDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Feighner have been set for Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Montrose Funeral Home's Chapel of the Roses with Elder R.P. Wiseheart of the Grand Junction Church of God officiating. Interment will be in Cedar cemetery.
' Mrs. Feighner, a resident of the Montrose community and of Colorado for the past 75 years, died Tuesday morning in Montrose Osteopathic hospital at the age of 92.
Elizabeth Amelia Maloney was born May 24, 1868, at Lawrence, KS, the daughter of G.W. and Hulda (Holmes) Maloney. Of pioneer ancestory, she was a cousin of Abraham Lincoln and Daniel Boone. Her early live was spent in the vicinity of Howard, KS.
She was married in 1884 at Howard, KS to M.A. Hillis, now deceased, and in 1936 she was married at Montrose to F.A. (NOTE: This should be J. L.)Feighner, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include 4 sons, Elbert Hillis, Langley, WA; Paul Hillis, Yakima, WA; Francis M. Hillis, Grants Pass, OR; and John M. Hillis, Glenn, CA.; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Hardison, Downey, CA; Mrs. Minnie Barnaby, Howard, KS, two nephews, Edgar and Herbert Williams, both of Montrose. Two sons, Walter and Frank Hillis, and a daughter, Mrs. Nina Frasier are deceased.
Active in community affairs as long as her health permitted, Mrs. Feighner was affiliated with the Church of God, the Leisure Hour Club, and was a life member of a local Grange.
