Thomas Edward Ragsdale was born August 10, 1876, in Guadalupe County, Texas, son of John Samuel Ragsdale and Catherine Belle Arterberry.
Thomas lived in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) for 34 years and then moved to Norman in about 1924. He was a retired Civil service employee, a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine, Odd Fellows, and Woodman of the World Chapters, all of Lexington, as well as a member of the Lexington Church of Christ. Former owner of a blacksmith shop in Lexington, He was one of the first organizers of the Farmers Union co-operative & cotton gin.
On September 26, 1897 in Lebanon, Indian Territory, Thomas married Maude Ollie Teters. She died July 9, 1912 in Lexington. On September 21, 1912 in Lexington, he second married Hattie Florentine Meckley Keen.
Thomas died June 5, 1948 in Norman, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery.
