Longtime Boring resident Frances Boring, 86, died Saturday, Dec. 22, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Sandy Baptist Church, 34435 S.E. Jarl Road. A private interment will be held at Damascus Pioneer Cemetery.
She was born in Hayden, Colo., to Gordon and Cora Adair. She was raised and educated in Hayden. After graduating from high school, she moved to Gresham and worked as a secretary.
On Nov. 12, 1938, she married Willard Boring in Gresham. In 1941, she moved to Boring and worked as a homemaker and at the family dairy. She worked at Boring Grade School from 1955 to 1977 as a secretary and desk clerk. She traveled to Europe, Canada and the East Coast.
She was involved in Kiwanis and enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts, gardening and spending time with her family. She played the piano and organ for various churches in the area.
Survivors include her husband; daughter, Shirley Crow of Gresham; sons, Bob Boring of Boring and Jim Boring of Prineville; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to Kaiser Hospice or Doernbecher Children's Hospital. Sandy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
