He was deployed with the UK contingent of NATO forces in Afghanistan.
He died in Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham as a result of injuries sustained in Afghanistan on August 15. He had been on a foot patrol near Sangin, Helmand province when a roadside bomb detonated and killed Sgt Simon Valentine. When Fus Bush attempted to rescue his comrade, a secondary device exploded.
Aged 24, from Coventry. Fus Bush enlisted in the military in 2006 and deployed on his first operational tour in 2007 to Kabul, Afghanistan. He then served postings in Cyprus, Warwickshire and Hounslow. "Bushy" was remembered as a dedicated, rock-solid soldier and generous friend to his mates. He was an excellent boxer and represented his battalion in regimental competitions. He was also a passionate football player and lifelong supporter of Coventry City FC.
Predeceased by his mother Diane, Fus Bush is survived by his father Carl, sister Hannah, brother Lewis, partner Amy and other family and friends.
Funeral Service, with full military honours, was held on September 23, 2009 at Coventry Cathedral followed by cremation at Canley Crematorium in the Charter Chapel.
