Maddux was the son of Martha Beatrice JAMES Bennett and Thomas Eugene Bennett.
Maddux loved people and would give anyone his last dollar if they needed it. He attended the University of Utah for three and a half years, studying English, journalism and drama. While in Salt Lake City he starred in three TV shows. 1.Horsethief by Holt and Company. 2. Katie Jane and Thelma Lou by Lone Peaks Productions and 3. a minor part in At Mother's Request.
Maddux had four daughters and one step-daughter whom he adored. Since his death he's had three granddaughters and two grandsons. UPDATE...twin granddaughters born 10-6-2011.
Maddux was in the Army for ten years and spent a year in Vietnam. His medals were Air medal 1; Aircraft Member's Badge; Vietnam Cross of Gallantry; Good Conduct Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal with four Campaign Stars; National Defense Service Medal; Expert M-14, M-16 Rifles.
In 1973 while stationed at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, he received a 'Letter of Appreciation' from Major Lyman C. Culver from West Point Military Academy for "contributed materially to the successful completion of the Special Troops Support mission."
Maddux was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Maddux was a loving son, father, brother and uncle, and there will always be an empty place in our hearts for him.
