Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah (Sadie) Harwell Burns, 66, lifelong resident of Giles County, were held at 10 o'clock Friday morning in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Gus Self, pastor of the Frankewing Methodist Church, and the Rev. Raymond Hudson, Baptist minister of Lewisburg. Burial took place in the Center Point Cemetery. Mrs. Burns died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 9, at her Frankewing home.
Born November 8, 1898, in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late William Harwell and Frances Worley Harwell. She was a member of the Frankewing Methodist Church.
Her husband, Archie Burns, died thirty-four years ago.
Mrs. Burns is survived by two sons, Charles Burns, Lewisburg, and Marion Burns, Newton, Ia.; two daughters, Mrs. Jesse Dixon, Huntsville, Ala., and Mrs. Claude Shaw, Selma, Ala.; five grandchildren; one brother, Horace Harwell, Beech Hill; and one sister, Mrs. Sam Mitchell, Friendship Community of Giles County.
