Our loving father and world's best grandpa, Lincoln A. Rasband, age 94, died Saturday, April 29, 2006, in Heber City.

He was born Feb. 12, 1912, in Heber City to Joseph A. and Eliza Ann Jeffs Rasband. Lincoln grew up in Heber, graduating from Wasatch High School. He married Mima Maud Pyper Oct. 1, 1937, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

After graduating from Brigham Young University, Lincoln taught school for 39 years in Duchesne, Wasatch County and Park City. He served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: one as a young man at the California Mission and the other with his wife, Mima, at the Mississippi Jackson Mission. He served in many capacities in the church and was a temple worker in the Provo Temple for several years.

Lincoln served as mayor of Heber City and as a Heber City Councilman. He also served on Governor Matheson's Rural and Economic Advisory Committee and in the Mountainland Association. For 18 years, he and his wife owned and operated the Crown Cafe in Heber City. He found his greatest joy in his family and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Kathryn (Gary) Judd of Salt Lake City; David A. (Connie) of Amarillo, Texas; James Stanley (Linda) of Anchorage, Alaska; Barbara (Ronald) Tremble of Heber City; son-in-law, Rodney (Carol) Wade; 42 grandchildren, 126 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Irving (Dot) Rasband and Mark Rasband; He is preceded in death by his wife; two daughters: Margene R. Wade and Jolene R. Brown; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2006, at noon in the Heber LDS 1st Ward, 325 East 500 North, Heber City. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 8 p.m. at the LDS Church and on Friday from 10 11:30 a.m. prior to the services also at the LDS Church. Interment will follow in the Heber City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Primary Children's Medical Center or the American Cancer Society.
