Thomas Davis was born in Blakeney, Glouchestershire, England on December 19th, 1851. On May 10, 1872 he came to America.

In the year of 1879 he was united in marriage to Belle Conn, of Brook, Indiana, who died in 1880.

In 1883 Mr. Davis was united in Marriage to Maria Ulyat of Newton County, Indiana. To this union were born nine children. Charles Edward who died at the age of 8 years and Mrs. Alice Smith, of Steele, North Dakota; George W. Davis, of Brook, Ind.; William A. Davis, Mrs. Ruby Michaels and Earnest Davis, of Kniman, Indiana; Mrs. Bessie Spangler, of Valparaiso, Ind.; Mrs. Elizabeth McColby, of Delray Beach, Florida and James T. Davis of Hessville, Indiana.

Marie Davis, the mother of these children passed away on May 33, 1916.

On Nov. 6th, 1917 Mr. Davis was united in marriage to Anna Hines Putt, of Brook, Indiana, who has since been his faithful wife.

Mr. Davis lived in the vicinity of Brook, Indiana for 34 years. From there he moved to Kniman, Indiana where he lived until 1929, at that time moving to South Bend, Ind., at which place he died on December 23, 1931 at the age of 80 years and 4 days.

For the past 11 years Mr. Davis has been blind and in ill health, and for the past 7 weeks prior to his death he had been confined to his bed.

He was baptized in the Episcopal church of England before coming to America.

He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife, four daughters, four sons, twenty grandchildren, five step-daughters, three stepsons, and a host of other relatives and friends.
