There is some question as to whether Green Berry LANEY had a wife before Minerva J. MILLER. James A. LANEY, his first son, was supposedly born in 1840, before his marriage with Minerva.
Green Berry LANEY originally had a large, heavy light-colored elaborately carved stone. A bush was allowed to grow behind the stone, pushing it face forward. In 1992 the stone was at about a 45 degree angle, and could not be easily righted, but it was still possible to photograph. Later cemetery surveys report that the stone has been pushed too far forward to be read.
