Ronald Eugene Cox, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Cox, Route 19, Lebanon, died Monday afternoon of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He is also survived by a brother, Roy Dean and two sisters, Deana Carter and Teresa Cox, all of Lebanon; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Peterson and his maternal grandmother, Alice Payne, all of the state of Illinois. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at White Oak Pond Church with the Rev. Theron McCloud officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Palmer-Pickering Funeral Home.
Services for Ronald Cox were held Nov. 9 at White Oak Pond Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Theron McCloud officiating. Joyce Massey was
organist and escorts were Randy Craw, Jack Cyr, Terry Elersic, Rick Timms, Rama and Rex Rhoads. Burial was in White Oak Pond Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Palmer-Pickering Funeral Home.
Ronald Eugene, son of Roy Dean and Janice Payne Cox, was born Sept. 8, 1965 in Rock Island, III., and died Nov. 9, 1984 at the age of 19. At the age of 4, he moved with his family to Lebanon, where he attended Mapfecrest Elementary School and graduated from Lebanon High School. He was a member of Future Farmers of America and was a member of the Lebanon Track Team.
He accepted Christ a number of years ago while attending Camp Joy near Ava. He had been employed at Independent Stave and most recently at Hough Lumber Company.
Survivors include his parents, Roy Dean and Janice Cox; his brother Roy Dean Jr.; two sisters, Deana Carter and Teresa Cox, all of Lebanon; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Peterson and his maternal grandmother, Alice Payne, all of the state of Illinois.
