Eva was married to Miguel López for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Raul J. Prado. Eva and Miguel were long-time residents of Oakland. They owned the very popular Casa De Eva Mexican Restaurant on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland for 26 years and retired in 1990.

LOPEZ Eva Passed away peacefully at home in Oakland on November 24, 2001 after a long illness. Beloved wife of Mike for over 53 years. Devoted mother of sons Juan, and Raul Prado (DECEASED), and daughter Yolanda Fry. Blessed with grandchldren Gary Michael, Eugene R., and John S. Prado, Gabriel Viramontes, Christopher and Patrick Miguel Fry, Yolanda Arroyo, Briane, Clarissa, and Joey Garza, and great-grandchildren Courtney, Evan, Dominic, and Olivia Prado. Born in Juarez, Mexico in 1921, she came to California where she was a successful businesswoman as she and her spouse ran the popular restaurant bearing her name "Casa de Eva," on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley. Eva and her husband Mike lost their home in the horrific Oakland fire of 1991 as they fled and barely escaped with their lives. She was extremely active in community affairs, having been a member of among others, the Saint Mary's College Guild since 1974, the Oakland Museum Women's Board for over 20 years, the Colombo Club Auxiliary, and the Women's Auxiliary Ligure Club. She will long be missed by her family and friends and remembered as she sang and enlivened many social events with her excellent, cheerful, and vibrant voice. Services were held on November 27th, 2001 at the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland.
