Martinsburg Gazette - 8 August 1833

At the residence of Mr. Jacob A. Small, on Friday night last, Mr. Jonathan Cushwa, an old and highly respectable inhabitant of this county. He received injury by being thrown from his horse about two weeks previous which caused his death. The remains were interred in the burying ground at Tuscarora on Sunday last, accompanied by an unusually large number of friends and relatives.
