George D Blanche
George Dana Blanche, 71, of the Prescott road died Wednesday at an Augusta nursing home after a long illness.
He was born in Byron, May 8, 1905, the son of George and Adelaide McReavy Blanche.
Mr. Blanche owned and operated a cattle farm for many years and became a self-employed carpenter until 1962 when he retired because of illiness.
He was a member of the Maine Harness Association and the U.S. Trotting Association.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hildrith Hanson Blanche, North Manchester; two sons, Fred E., Augusta, Carlton W., U.S. Navy, Pennsylvina; four daughters, Mrs Ann Whitman, North Manchester, Mrs. Frances Duncan, Decatur, Ill., Mrs. Geraldine Baldwin, Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Charlene Skene, North Manchester; three brothers, Edwin Blanche, Portland, Paul Blanche, North Manchester, Robert Blanche, Augusta; a sister, Mrs. Emily Stinson, North Manchester; eight grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Saturday, 15 Flagg St., Augusta.

BLANCHE, George Dana-Died Wednesday.Friends may visit today. 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 15 Flagg St., Augusta, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

AUGUSTA- Funeral services for George Dana Blanche were held at 15 Flagg St. Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Victor P. Musk, pastor emeritus of the Green Street Methodist Church officiating.
Organist was Mrs. C. Knowlton Hewins.
Delegations attended from the Maine Harness Association, the U.S. Trotting Association and the Manchester Grange.
Bearers were Gary and Jay Hanson, Willard, James and Theodore Blanche Jr. and Randy Lyons.
Burial was in the Manchester Cemetery where the Rev. Mr. Musk gave committal prayers.
