IN LOVING MEMORY OF ADAM MCDONALD On His 28th Birthday 10/12/1984 - 07/06/2002
Would you be married and I be a mother-in-law? Would you have children and I be their grandma? Would you have a successful and fulfilling career? Would you be taller, stronger and more handsome than ever? I will never know these answers since one tragic evening took you away from me. It's so difficult to attend weddings and baby showers, because all I can think of is what you and I have both missed. You would be 28 today, yet the last birthday we celebrated together was 11 years ago. Still, I have to go on with my life, and the only way I can is by remembering the beautiful memories I have of you. I can still picture your quirky smile and those oh so perfect dimples. So Happy Birthday, Adam You Will Be Forever In Our Hearts Mom, Eric and Josh

IN LOVING MEMORY OF ADAM MCDONALD On His 25th Birthday 10/12/84 - 7/6/02
Today is your 25th Birthday, And I have so many "I Wonders" How tall and handsome you'd be Where would you be with your career, If you'd be engaged or married, Why you could even be a Daddy But instead of a day of celebration, I can only reflect on memories of you. No cake and presents can be given, Instead I will decorate your grave. Little did I know that night, As I told you to have a good time It would be the last time I heard your voice. The dreaded phone call past midnight, And the drive to the hospital seemed an eternity, Just to be told I lost my son, my first born. How I wish I could go back to that day, If we had talked for just a few minutes more, The truck that hit you would have already passed, And you would still be here with us today. Bright and humorous with the biggest dimples. Your smile so warm and friendly, is etched forever in my mind. So, Happy 25th Birthday, Adam We will all love you forever! IN LOVING MEMORY OF ADAM MCDONALD On His 24th Birthday 10/12/84 - 7/6/02
Please God, make them remember that today is Adam's birthday. Make them understand that the memories don't go away. Bless them with ears to hear and hearts that care. Enable them to listen while I share. Shelter them that they may never know my pain. Help them to help me know that my son's life was not in vain. Help them to remember Lord that I wish that my son was here so we could still celebrate. To understand that I still feel the nearness of my son. To see beyond my smile and the words, "I'm okay." Please God, just let one remember that today, is Adam's birthday. IN LOVING MEMORY OF ADAM MCDONALD
On His 6th Anniversary In Heaven OCTOBER 12, 1984 - JULY 6, 2002 Imagine someone has opened your chest with clawed hands, grabbed your heart in a crushing grip and torn it from your body. But you do not die. You remain alive, in agony. Agony that will continue for days, weeks, months and years. This is what it feels like when your child dies. Knowing that I would never again see his smile, hear his laugh or feel his hand clinging to mine. I would never again hear his voice telling jokes and stories. I would never know the man he would have grown up to be. I walked from the hospital room that morning knowing that I had seen and touched my son for the last time ever. Remember? Always Love? Eternally. Forget? Never. THINKING OF YOU ALWAYS, Mom, Eric and Josh. Published in The Times from July 6 to July 7, 2008

HAPPY 23RD BIRTHDAY To My Loving Son, Adam McDonald
10/12/84 - 7/6/02 Whenever times are hard to bear, I think back to when you were little and all of the fun times we shared. Memories of you are all I have now, How I cherish each and every one. I never thought you would be gone, The pain is so difficult to bear at times. Celebrating your brothers' graduation, Is just one thing I couldn't share with you. How I often thought of the day when I could be somewhere with my three grown sons beside me. Over the years I enojoyed watching you bowl in the youth league, and later watching you work at the same bowling alley. I have bowled there ever since you've been gone, we spent so much time there that I feel a part of you is there with me. I recently watched a video of you, the first time in over 5 years. Yet, I could only watch a minute or so and I had to turn it off. I miss you so much and I wish we were celebrating your birthday together with a cake and presents, instead of flowers and a prayer by your grave. Naturally, I still have so many of those "Why" questions and I suppose one day I will get the answers. That will be when we are reunited, my precious son. In Loving Memory Of Adam McDonald On His 22nd Birthday 10/12/84 - 07/06/02 Our lives go on without you But nothing is the same, We have to hide our heartaches When someone speaks your name. Sad are the hearts that love you Silent the tears that fall, Living each day without you Is the hardest part of all. You were such a fun loving boy Your heart was kind and true, And when we needed to feel better We could always count on you. The special years will not return When we were all together, But with the love within our hearts You will walk with us forever. Happy Birthday, Adam We Love You, Mom, Eric and Josh

In Loving Memory Of a Special Son and Big Brother ADAM MC DONALD On His 4th Anniversary in Heaven 10/12/84 - 7/6/02 A heart of gold stopped beating. Two shining eyes at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Little did we know that morning. The sorrow the day would bring. The end was sudden, the shock severe. We never knew that death was so near. When days are sad and lonely, And evening shadows fall. We hear your voice and see your face. Your sweet memory lingers on. God knew you had to leave us. But you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you. The day God called you home. And you my son, definitely had a heart of gold along with the cutest dimples. Missing and Loving You Always, Mom, Bob, Eric, and Josh

In Loving Memory Of Adam McDonald On His 21st Birthday 10/12/84 - 07/06/02 Today you would be 21, How I had looked forward to this special day. Instead of a day of celebration, I can only reflect on memories of you. No cake and presents can be given, Instead I will bring flowers to your grave. Little did I know that night, As I told you to have fun, That it would be the last time we would speak. The dreaded phone call at midnight, And long ride to the hospital, Just to be told my son is forever gone. How I wish I could go back to that day, If we had talked for just a few minutes more, The truck that hit you would have already passed, And you would still be here with us today. You were always a good friend, Helping your buddy get the girl. You gave up your seat in his car, And got into the backseat of another, So he could be alone with her. If you had stayed in his car, You would be with me now. But God had other plans for you, And this I must accept. It's just extremely difficult, Because you were so special. Bright and humorous with the biggest dimples. Your smile so warm and friendly, Is etched forever in my mind. So Happy 21st Birthday, Adam I will forever love you, And when God calls for me, We will be together once again. Loving and Missing You Everyday, Mom, Bob, Eric and Josh Family and Friends

In Memory Of My Fantastic Son Adam McDonald On His 3rd Anniversary In Heaven 10/12/84 - 7/6/02 You have been gone for 3 years now... How was I to know? Just how much that it would hurt, When you had to go. Time was not ours to have, It quickly came and went. God had a much greater plan, For my precious son... He sent down a falling star, To catch his just freed soul. Removed him from his useless shell, And gently called him home. If I could have just one more day, To hold you in my arms. If I could have just one more time, To say our last good-byes. I would have held you closer, Joining our hearts together. I would have whispered softly, I love you so much, my precious son.. I would have gladly gone for you, If you only could have stayed. You took with you a part of me, You took my broken Heart.... Loving & missing You Every Day, "Mom"

In Loving Memory Of ADAM McDONALD On his 2nd Anniversary in Heaven 10/12/1984 07/06/2002 We can shed tears that you are gone, or we can smile because you lived. We can close our eyes and pray that you will come back, or we can open our eyes and see that you have left. Our hearts can be empty because we can't see you, Or we can be full of the love and good times that we shared. We can turn our backs on tomorrow because of yesterday. We can remember you and only that you are gone. Or we can cherish your memory and let it live on. We can cry and close our minds, be empty and turn our backs, or we can do what you would want; smile, open our eyes, love and go on. MISSING YOU EVERYDAY Mom, Bob, Eric, Josh Family and Friends

In Loving Memory Of Adam McDonald On his 19th Birthday 10/12/1984 7/6/2002 My dearest Adam, How I wish you were here. The days and nights go by, And we can feel you near. You were taken so suddenly, On that tragic night. But we know in our hearts, That you walked into the light. We pray you are happy, We know you are free. But it doesn't heal our hearts, When here is where you should be. I wait for you to come home, Just out with your friends. But I know that won't happen, The accident brought it all to an end. My heart is so very heavy, It's been torn from my chest. How could God have taken, One of his very best. I suppose life will go on, For your brothers and me. And one day your beautiful smile, Again we will see. Help us through this life, my son, I pray on bended knee. Until we are together again, For all eternity. Happy Birthday, Adam We Love You. A million times I needed you
A million times I cried
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died

In life I loved you dearly and in
Death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place
That know one could ever fill

It broke my heart to lose you
But you did not go alone
For part of me went with you
The day God took you home.
