Floyd Olena - ELBERTON, Ga.
Mr. Floyd Michael Olena, age 60, Elberton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at his residence.

Mr. Olena was born in Johnson City and son of the late Floyd Keith & Maxine Farley Olena. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandmother and uncle, Fern R. Lutz and Everett (Dutch) Lutz, who raised him.

He was a US Navy Veteran and retired from the US Postal Service.

Mr. Olena was an ETSU graduate.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Carneal Olena, Elberton, GA; two daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca O. & Dain Mickalites, Raleigh, NC and Carrie D. Olena, Woodstock, GA; and two grandchildren, Corinne Mickalites and Alex Mickalites, both of Raleigh.

Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, December 29, 2008, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30-12:30 pm Monday, prior to the service, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be David Christian, Bob Hammett, Dan Stott, Jim Foster, Dain Mickalites, Todd Haygood, Tony Stayer and Mike Woods. Honorary pallbearer will be Glenn Pickering.

Memorial donations may be sent to the hospice of your choice or any charity you wish.
