Gonzales Tribune, Thursday, August 21, 1924:
"GEORGE FAW, FORMER RESIDENT, IS BURIED
The funeral of George Donald Faw, whose death occurred last Thursday at his home in Oakland, was held in Gonzales upon the arrival of a train bearing the remains from the north. The deceased, son of the late George E. Faw, was a native of Gonzales, aged 30 years. His father was one of the pioneer warehouse men of the Salinas valley, member of the former firm of Thomas F. Faw and George E. Faw, with extensive interests many years ago in all the towns along the railroad. The young man's demise came after an illness of long duration.
To mourn his passing, he leaves, besides many friends, his mother Mrs. Lizzie K. Faw, as well as a sister and brother. The latter are Mrs. Edith Moran and Claude T. Faw, both of Oakland.
Interment was in the family plot in the Gonzales cemetery. Commitment services were conducted by the Rev. Melvin S. MacKerricher, pastor of the Community Baptist church."
