Final Services for Joseph W. Haller

Joseph William Haller was born June 22, 1918, near Bladen, Nebraska, and was a life-long resident of Webster County.

He was united in marriage to Rose E. Sidlo on April 23, 1942. To this union were born five children, Larry, Betty, Barbara, Roger and Kenneth.

He passed from this life on Monday, July 7, 1980, at the Webster County Hospital following an illness of several weeks.

He farmed in Webster County until 1965. He spent the last fourteen years working for the State Department of Roads. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church.

The Rosary led by Rose Haller, Larry Haller, and Sister Ambrosia, was recited July 10 at 8 o'clock at the Simonson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held July 11 at 10 o'clock at the Sacred Heart Church. Reverends Hain and Peter Naughton concelebrated the funeral Mass. Reverend Hain delivered the homily.

Organ music was provided by Barb Sprague. Soloist, Gerilyn Geibler, sang "Just a Closer Walk with Thee."

Pallbearers were Verlin Paul, Al Hubl, Alex Kohn, Don Miner, Ed Day, and Pete Meline.

Interment was in the Red Cloud Cemetery with Simonson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Elizabeth; and three brothers, Frank, Phillip, and Raymond.

Surviving are his wife, Rose; three sons, Larry of Red Cloud, Roger of Calimesa, California, and Kenneth of Madison, Wisconsin; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Betty) Borho, of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Mrs. John (Barbara) Butcher of Avoca, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Sister Ambrosia of Murphysboro, Illinois, and Christina Miller of Harvard, Nebraska; two brothers, Karl of Kearney and Richard of Minden.
