Birth: Jun. 23, 1921
Webster County
Nebraska, USA
Death: Jan. 23, 1942, At Sea

Seaman First Class in the United States Navy, Vencil Frank Sidlo was lost at sea in the Pacific during World War II when his oil tanker the Neches was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine. This military marker was acquired in 1999 as a memorial to his memory to be placed in the Red Cloud, NE Cemetery between his parents Bohumil & Elizabeth Sidlo and his brother Bohumil Jr who also died in his early twenties.

Check out Vencil's Memorial Page in the "Honolulu ABMC Memorial" Cemetery in Honolulu, Hawaii where I have photos and information about his death plus his obituary.
