Actess. Best known for her work on "I Love Lucy." Marilyn and her twin sister Roz appeared in episode 112 of I Love Lucy entitled "Tennessee Bound," where they played the sheriff's daughters Teensy and Weensy. Marilyn and Rosalyn Borden were born May 29, 1932 in Hartford, Connecticut to the late Harry and Elizabeth Borden. They were joined by younger sister Barbara thirteen years later. Their show business career began at age four performing on a local radio station with Ed Begley Sr. At a young age they already became acquainted with several celebrities including Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. In order to further the girl's career, Harry and Elizabeth Borden moved the family to California. The twins began work on television in the early 1950s with Spike Jones, and later as regulars on the "Colgate Comedy Hour." While appearing with Ed Wynn they were introduced to Lucille Ball. Ball, so impressed by the girls, had her writers create a part for them on "I Love Lucy." Their single episode aired on January 24, 1955 and the Borden Twins became icons to Lucy fans world wide. Following "I Love Lucy" the twins were regulars on the "Jimmy Durante Show" from 1955-57. After their stint with Durante, the twins entered the nightclub circuit and helped open the famed Hotsy Totsy Club in San Francisco. They became known as Hotsy and Totsy. The twins appeared with the likes of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, as well as a stint with The Ritz Brothers. While working in nightclubs, they took time to entertain troops overseas. With the USO they traveled to Korea, Japan, and the Philippines. The 1970s brought them back to television. The Borden Twins appeared on numerous series including "Maude," and "CHiPS." In subsequent years they toured with Bob Newhart and his nightclub show in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada. They appeared as fitness experts on the San Francisco based morning show "A.M. San Francisco." Their last television appearance came in 1998 on the "All Star Tribute to Aaron Spelling," their co-star on Lucy. In the 1990s, the Borden Twins strengthened their relationship with their fans. They became unofficial mascots at the Lucy conventions in Burbank, California, and traveled to Lucille Ball's birthplace in Jamestown, New York. They made several appearances at the yearly "Loving Lucy" convention. The twins and their husbands moved from the Bay Area to Modesto in 2002. Roz passed away from liver disease on January 23, 2003. Marilyn returned to the convention that May, and for the last time in 2005. Marilyn lost her soul mate when Roz died, but built a solo career in Modesto, California. Marilyn appeared in local shows and created an act known as the "Senior Divas" with friends Shirley Hausner and Elsie Merenda. She had the privilege of opening for Bob Newhart in May 2007, when he appeared in Turlock, California.
