Inventor. H. W. Allen revolutionized the archery industry worldwide with the invention and patent of the compound bow in the 1960's.

Billings - Services for H. Wilbur Allen, 69, Billings, have been held at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Kansas City, with the Rev. Leopold H. Hoppe officiating. Burial was in Floral Hills Cemetery under direction of Meadors of Billings.
Mr. Allen died last Thursday of injuries suffered in a two-car accident on U.S. 60 three miles east of Republic Thursday. Mr. Allen a former Kansas City resident, moved to Billings in 1967. He was president and chairman of the board of directors of Allen Archery.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; three sons, Stephen, Bismarck, N. D.; Douglas, Aurora, and Gregory, Lawrence, N. D.; two sisters, Mrs. Holleta Poe, state of Calif. and Miss Hazel Allen, Kansas City, Kan. and one granddaughter.
