OBITUARY OF JUSTUS WRIGHT
Justus, better known to relatives and friends as Jess, a son of Isaac and Lucinda Wright, was born August 20, 1865 in martin Township, Crawford County, Ill., and spent his entire life there with the exception of about four years in Colorado.
On December 25, 1895, he was united in marriage to Mary J. Bryant. To this union twin daughters were born. One passed away in infancy, and the other, Florence, at the tender age of six years. His companion preceded him in death, April 23, 1947. He is the last of a family of seven children, three sisters and four brothers. Six nieces and four nephews survive.
Uncle Jess has been a member of long standing of the IOOF Lodge of Oblong. In years when his sight was good, he went so willingly to lend a hand in case of sickness or misfortune of some relative or friend.
He bore the last few years of life without complaint and passed away January 24, 1952 at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 4 days.
Funeral services were held Saturday January 26, at 2:00 at the Marshall Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Hall officiating. Burial was in the Oblong Cemetery.
