John W. Donohue, 82, of Rt. 2, Lexington, died at 2:20 a.m. Friday at Scott County Memorial Hospital.
He was a life-long resident of Scott County and a retired farmer.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scottsburg, Scottsburgh Lodge 572 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and a veteran of service with the U.S. Army in World War I.
He is survived by his wife, the former Alma Payne; three sons, Galen Donohue of Lake Station, Ind., Robert Donohue of Scottsburg, and Paul Donohue of Lexington; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Beatty of Cincinnati; a foster-son, Donald Briddle of Scottsburg; two foster-daughters, Mrs. Juanita Clephane of Martinsville, Ind., and Mrs. Dixie Neace of Lexington; 19 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Masonic memorial services were held Saturday evening at the Stewart Funeral Home in Scottsburg.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Stewart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Perkins and the Rev. Brainard Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Scaffoldlick Cemetery.
