He was born and raised on a farm outside Shattuck, Oklahoma. He survived the Depression and enlisted in the Army Air Force, 804th Engineer Aviation Battalion. He served in the Pacific Theater starting with the attack on Pearl Harbor and was discharged Sept. 1945. He barely survived the tornado that ripped through Higgins, Texas in 1947. He was employed in road construction for most of his career and retired in Kemp, Texas after a very hard life of working. He went to sleep while playing a game of solitaire on his computer.
The son of Glen Richard Brummett and Lelia Faye Gertrude Hawk. Married to (1) Doris Laverne Collins (2) Frieda Anna Emelia Geiger
