Everyone who knew Sandy as a friend, knew she was gay. She didn't hide her authentic self. Sandy had MANY girlfriends over the years, but only a few really deep relationships. And she was a PLAYER. She loved to be romantic with the ladies. Whenever one of her old girlfriends came to town, she was the first one they came to visit.

Sandy loved to dress as a man. She mostly bought her clothes in the men's department. She was far more flat chested in her younger years and was proud of that. She wore men's cologne, bought men's dress shoes (ok boy's dress shoes) and even got a mustache from a specialty store.

Sandy wanted to be a photographer, but her family laughed at her. She got very little encouragement and was told that she was lucky to have an assembly line job at General Motors. She worked very hard for many years and hated her job. Everyday working with men who were hitting on her pissed her off. She wanted to be one of them, but had to be "normal" or get beat up.

Sandy use to tell me she knew she was going to die before her Mom. She made me promise to tell her Mom how much she hurt her. It was a long list I promised to. Her Mom did live another eight years, but I was too weak to tell her all that I promised Sandy that I would.

Shortly after Sandy died, I purchased a dual niche very near Sandy's crypt. I could of bought a crypt or niche even closer to her's, but I chose one outside in the center fountain area. We use to sit out there often when we brought new flowers for her sister Brenda.

Sandy loved to sign all her cards, notes, and letters to me "SKB131" and we used 131 as our gay code for I LUV U one letter, three letters, one letter. She was one of a kind and I miss her with all my heart and soul.

Love Always, Renee
