Edward served as a Second Lieutenant & Bombardier on B-24D #42-40886, 64th Bomber Squadron, 43rd Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.
He resided in Erie County, Pennsylvania prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on March 11, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a asbestos and insulation worker and also as Single, without dependents.
Edward was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-24 crashed near Mount Eiyawaiy and Engati in Morobe Province during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
