Francis J. Meehan Passes at Home Thursday. Francis J. Meehan, age 62, passed away at his home in Kalkaska early Thursday morning. - Mr. Meehan was born at Donaldson, Michigan, on June 6, 1894, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Meehan. He lived at Kinross for 30 years, and for the past 7 years has spent in Kalkaska an employee of the State Highway Dept. - He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Rudyard, Michigan. - Surviving with his widow, Mildred; are two daughters, Mrs. Dwight Dear, and Mrs. Gordon Carver, both of Flint; 5 sons, Wilfred, with the Coast Guard in Seattle, Wash., John of Dafter, William of Sault St. Marie, Jerome and Morris both at home; 9 grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. - Mr. Meehan was removed to the Berg-Scwartz Funeral Home in Kalkaska where he will lie in state until Saturday at which time he will be taken to the Bailey-Newhouse Funeral Home at Sault St. Marie. Funeral services will be held from the St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Rudyard at 10:30 a.m. and burial will be made in Kinross Cemetery. - Leader and Kalkaskian; April 25, 1957
