"George Albert Scott Found Slain ---- George Albert Scott, 64, who came to Texas from Oklahoma with his parents in 1906 and who had lived in the Goodlett community for many years, was found shot to death Friday near his home.
Mr. Scott, who had been in poor health for several years, was found dying by Jim McCreary, who lived within a block of the Scott residence in northeast Goodlett. Officers called to the scene said a shotgun was found near the body of Mr. Scott.
Last rites were held Sunday at the Goodlett Methodist Church of which he was a member, by Rev. W. O. Rucker, minister. Knowles Funeral Home was in charge of the final rites and interment in the Goodlett cemetery.
Mr. Scott is survivied by his wife, who was before their marriage in 1913, Miss Virgie Cox, and five brothers and three sisters, all of whom live in Quanah and the Goodlett area. They are Henry, Walter, Lon, Clairborne and Bill Scott and Mrs. Leslie Day, Mrs. Ross Mann and Mrs. Mamie Gooding. Pallbearers wer Robert Goree, Harlan Golston, Arch Tabor, B. R. Foster, George Collins and Clyde Barbee.
