Byron H. Dishman, 73, of Louisville, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was a firefighter for 14 years for the Louisville Fire Department and a retired sergeant for the Louisville Police Department, where he worked for 22 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Metropolitan Lodge #32. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Norma P. Skaggs; a daughter, Delonia (Ray) Bloomer; a son, Byron Lynn Dishman; a brother, Joseph Danny Dishman; a sister, Lois Dishman; and grandchildren, Beth, B.J. and Clayton. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Highway, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday.
