Mat Booker was a member of the Louisville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Louisville Police Department during the 1860's and 1870's as a patrolman and detective. He was also a saloon keeper. He died of brain fever. He resided at 816 E. Gray Street at the time of his death. He was survived by a wife and five children.
