Mrs. Bertha L. Britton, wife of John F. Britton, died at her home last night at `11 pm. She was born New Boston,IA Oct 5, 1862, and has lived at Fort Madison, IA the last 32 years. She was the daughter of M/M John W. Wilsey. IN 1896 she married John F. Britton, who survives with the following children: Byron T. Macon, MO; George E & John D. of Fort Madison, IA; Mrs. E.F. Wilson & Mrs. J. Robert Kemp of Fort Madison,IA; 2 Sisters: Mrs. Mary A. Hancock of New Boston,IA; Mrs. Charles Criner of Fort Worth Texas; 1 brother William Glasforth also survives. Funeral at her home Friday at 3 pm. Buried Elmwood Cemetery. She lived 3221 Chicago St., Fort Madison.

Bertha had a satin oak bedroom outfit she was diabetic- her toes were purple Virgie & Bob moved in w/ John Brittons (Virgie's parents)
