Xen W. Harvey, 71, 124 W. Harrison St., Fairmount, died on Saturday in Marion General Hospital. Mr. Harvey was born in Liberty Township, Fairmount. He had lived in Fairmount most of his life.


He was a retired Quaker (Friends) minister and served Friends churches in Radley, Bethel, two terms (26 years) at Fairmount Friends, West River and Muncie Friends Memorial. He also served as editor of Quaker Life Magazine for five years in Richmond.


He is survived by his wife, Beatrice "Betty;" one son, John R., Summitville; one daughter, Judy Harvey, Greensboro, N.C.; one sister, Mary L. Harvey, Fairmount; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


Services were held on Tuesday in the Fairmount Friends Meeting House, First and Mill streets, Fairmount, with Linda Lewis and Charles Heavilin officiating. Burial was made in the Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
