Jewel M. Best, 93, of Ozone, Arkansas, died on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at her home.

She was born on Wednesday, August 4, 1915, in Johnson County, Arkansas, to the late George E. and Mary May (Skidgel) Walker.

She was a retired nurses aid, a homemaker, a fifty year member of the Belle Grove Chapter of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Ozone Baptist Church.

Mrs. Best is survived by two daughters, Lois B. Yates of Ozone, Arkansas and Reba Patton of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sisters, Jean Daniels of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Birdie Lee Forrest of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Best is preceded in her death by her parents and her husband, Luther Best.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2009. The funeral service for Mrs. Best will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at the Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel, with Reverend Donald Cary and Reverend Mike Sawyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Cemetery, in Clarksville.

Pallbearers will be David A. Patton, Daniel Martin, Jason Daniels, Butch Daniels, and David Forrest.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Hopson, Ryan Hopson, Marvin Daniels, and Nick Daniels.

In lieu of flowers the family requests the donations be made to the Ozone Baptist Church or Johnson County Hospice.

All arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home (479) 754-2201.
