Clarence E. Krebs, 91, of Fairbury formerly of Beatrice died on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Gardenside Care Center in Fairbury. He was born on February 20, 1915 at Diller and attended District #66 Country School. He was baptized and confirmed at the Hope Evangelical Reformed Church at Harbine. He was married to Amanda Achtemeier on April 22, 1939 at the Hope Evangelical Reformed Church and they lived and farmed in the Diller area until moving to Beatrice in 1996. He was a member of the Diller United Church of Christ and served on the church board. He was also a member of the Rural Country and Diller School Boards and Farmer's Union all of Diller and Aerie #531 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Beatrice. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, bowling and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda of Fairbury; three daughters, Ruth Horsky and husband Larry and Jean Weers and husband Melvin all of Diller and Judith Mulvey and husband Jack of Rockford, Illinois; five granddaughters, Gayle Snider and husband Vern, Julie Sandman and husband Steve, Sara Greisen and husband Joel, Staci Daniels and husband Mike and Ashley Mulvey; two grandsons, Mark Weers and wife Rachelle and Steve Horsky and wife Lisa; 16 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Lydia Mann and Mildred Malchow both of Beatrice, Viola Smith of Omaha, Elda Sasse of Fremont, Phyllis Wiemers and husband Delmar and Faye Schmidt and husband Edwin all of Diller; two brothers, Elmer Krebs and wife Bethel of Lincoln and Orville Krebs and wife Dorothy of Wilsonville, Oregon; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Ella Engleman Krebs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at the Diller United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Delmar Wiemers and Pastor Mark Liscom officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery at Diller. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the Fox Funeralfjelaine@diodecom.net Home in charge. A family prayer service will be held at 10:00 A.M. in the fellowship room of the church. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice until 9:00 P.M.
