Dollie Long, 104
Dollie Long, 104, died 17 Feb 1991 within two miles of the river bottom farm where she was born on 5 March 1896 in Camden County.
She was the daughter of Dr Martin Lemuel Lyne and Rebecca Hopkins Lyne. She and her brother, Lemuel and sister ollie were orphaned, all under the age of 5, and they made their home with family and friends.
On 1 Aug 1906, she and A J (Jack) **Andrew Jackson** Long were married. They were the parents of seven children and lived their entire lives in Camden County except for a short time spent in Maries County and Jasper County in the early years of their marriage.
In addition to their own children, they took in their five orphaned nieces and nephes, the Hopkins children. They kepy other relatives children for short periods. (** John Clark Long and Sherman Lee Long - sons of their nephew - Leonard Long whose wife Rosalie Patterson died when the boys were 4 and 6 mos old, until Leonard remarried) In addition they raised two grandchildren after the death of their parents in 1939.
Dolly was a devoted mother and grandmother, affectionately called " Grannie" She loved children and babysat for many working mothers.
She was preceded in death, by her husband, three sons and one daughter.
She is survived by three daughters, Edna Anderson and Edith Earp, both of Lebanon, and Hazel Emry of Camdenton.; nine granchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 21 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 20 Feb at 2 pm in the Allee-Reed Chapel with Brother Ed Wyrwicki officiating. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers for the service. Interment will be in the Freedom Cemetery under the direction of the Allee-Reed Funeral Home of Camdenton.
