Hobie was found along the Kern River when he was a tiny kitten. He was almost a goner, as he was extremely dehydrated and starved. He was nursed back to health and taken to a nice family home where he was very loved and well cared for. He immediately made friends with the family pets.
Hobie had an unusual personality and he was quite a big cat. He was quite a talker, liked to hang out in the bathtub, liked to watch tv, and preferred dark cool places to sleep. Although he enjoyed the company of his human & animal companions, he was a loner who prowled the night looking for adventure.
Hobie was last seen on Halloween night in 1980, trotting down our driveway. We searched for him for months, but we never saw him again. It is not known how long he lived, or where he went, but he will always be in my heart.
