This Gordon Howard was the son of Joseph and Rebecca Lytle Howard. He was the grandson of Gordon Howard and Unknown.
The 1st Gordon Howard was an Indian Trader and lived in Donegal, Lanchaster County, PA. Born Ireland. He and 2 sons, Joseph and Thomas came to America in 1722.
This Gordon Howard served in the Revolutionary War.
He served under CAPT WM. Bratten, COL James Chambers & Morgen. In Col. Morgen's company he served as a rifleman.

In 1827 in his pension record he states he had lived with his son, Joseph who had died about a year before leaving a numerous family.
He received his pension 4 April, 1827 per his penison records.
In the documents for his pension, Gordon Howard makes his mark. (therefore can not write)
He married Sarah Williams about 1777. Gordon and Sarah Williams Howard had a son, Thomas who is buried in the same cemetery as his mother and father.
Gordon Howard's age at death I believe to be in error. He was more like 91 when he died unless the 7 on his headstone is really a 1.

This Gordon Howard was a brother of Rebecca Howard. Rebecca married Samuel Greer. She is my 4th g-grandmother.
Samuel and Rebecca Howard Greer both died in Nelson County, Kentucky
