Floyd Goodnight, 73, Tecumseh, died Friday, Aug. 12, in Tecumseh.
He was born Sept. 24, 1931, in Chandler to George and Myrtle (Fowler) Goodnight. He was raised in Sparks. He lived there until 1978 when he moved to Tecumseh.
He attended school and graduated from Sparks.
On Oct. 24, 1978, he married Geri Barnes in Gainesville, Texas. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base for more than 30 years before retiring in 1987. He enjoyed farming and ranching in his spare time.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Bill Goodnight.
Surviving are his wife, Geri Goodnight, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Phil Estes of Pewaukee, Wis.; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Suzanna Goodnight of Chandler, Carl and Becky Goodnight of Chandler and Kenny and Kelly Goodnight of Shawnee; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jack Reece of Tecumseh; two sisters-and brothers-in-law, Leota and Leon Brown of Sparks and Georgie and Haile Cunningham of Chandler; grandchildren and spouses, Randy and Lori Estes, Angie and Fox Hoover, Kacie Estes, Kristie and Charles Cowden, BJ and Michelle Goodnight, Denise and Van Swafford, Carly Goodnight, Kirbey Goodnight, Kristen Goodnight and Tandie Reece, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday Aug. 15, 2005, at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks of New Beginning Church officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
