Wife of Henry Walthall, daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth Ligon.
Phoebe Ligon (b. 15 December 1698, d. April 1752)
Phoebe Ligon was born 15 December 1698, and died April 1752 in Chesterfield, Virginia. She married Henry Walthall in Virginia, son of William Walthall and Anne Archer.

As I was taking a pictures of this headstone, a gentleman that takes daily walks in this cemetery came up to me and told me a story of how this gravestone came to Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

One evening, a husband & his wife were walking in an area where land was being cleared (I assume for development) and they came upon what they initially thought was an old septic tank. They later walked the same route during daylight and this time noticed the writing on the stone. Concerned that the grave was abandoned and could possibly be destroyed, they called someone at the Chesterfield County Courthouse. Not long after, Phoebe Ligon Walthall's grave was brought to the cemetery.

I found a reprint of an interesting article about her original grave
