NEFF CANNAFAX, a resident of Berryville, Arkansas was born October 28, 1916 in Berryville, a son of John Smith and Laura (Snow) Cannafax. He departed this life Sunday, August 10, 2003 in Berryville at the age of 86.
Mr. Cannafax was a 1938 graduate of Berryville High School and then taught school at Clearwater school and at New Hope until 1940 when he joined the U.S. Air Force. He served his five years in the South Pacific as a Technical Sergeant during World War II and was very proud to be an inspector of the bombers and aircraft. He was employed by Tyson Foods until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of the New Bethel United Baptist Church.
On December 25, 1945 he was united in marriage with Bernice (Fry) Cannafax who survives him. He is also survived by a son, Leonard and Everta Cannafax of Springdale, Arkansas, two daughters, Lorene Cannafax of Plano, Texas and Louise and her husband Larry Brooks of Berryville, three grandchildren, Michelle Brooks and fiance, Wayne Leising of Conway, Arkansas, Robyn and her husband Josh Capps of Berryville, James and his wife, Amy Goolsby of Springdale, Arkansas, a nephew Don and his wife Cindy of Harrison, Arkansas, several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ila Jane Sugg.
