CHRISTINE B. (BIRKELAND) ANDON KNOSTMAN, age 71, of Troy, passed away on August 29, 2014 in Aberdeen, Scotland. She was born in Taylor, MI on December 4, 1942 to the late Christian S. and Mae S. (Laamanen) Birkeland. Christine married Nicolaki A. Andon, who preceded her in death. She then married William J. Knostman and he survives. In addition to her husband, Christine is survived by one sister: Sandra J. Greenhill of Dearborn Heights, MI; niece: Laura Greenhill of Taylor, MI; nephews: Charles (Stephanie) Birkeland of Riverview, MI and Theodore C. Birkeland, Jr. of Dunnellon, FL; three step-sons and daughters-in-law: Douglas and Ann Knostman of Dallas, TX, Thomas and Katie Knostman of Columbus, OH and Steven and Michele Knostman of Troy, OH; and twelve step grandchildren. In addition to her parents and first husband, Christine was preceded in death by one brother: Theodore C. Birkeland, Sr; and a step granddaughter: Samantha Knostman.
Christine was a member of Upper Valley Community Church in Piqua, OH. She was also a Mary Kay Consultant. Christine loved traveling with her husband, William.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Andy Monnin officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay, OH. Friends may call from 2-4 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
