Rev. Bennett Dolfis Hardin
Bennett Dolfis Hardin, 101,of Vicksburg, formerly of Kosciusko, died Oct. 31, 2009 at the Vicksburg Convalescing Home. He had lived with his daughter for the past five years.
Rev. Hardin was a Baptist minister for over 60 years serving in different locations in Mississippi. He was a graduate of Delta State University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Clayborne Hardin and Adell W. Hardin; parents, William Bennett and Ella Rivers Hardin [see note below]; and all of his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Emily Long and husband, Ted of Vicksburg, Janie Sanders and husband, Robert of Vicksburg; foster son, James Williamson and wife, Sandra of Grenada; grandson, Todd Long and wife, Sigrid of Arroyo Grande, CA; Chris Long and wife, Claudia of Birmingham, Al; Mark Frazier and wife, Brandy of Tupelo,; Kevin Frazier and wife, Sharmaine of Jackson, MS; Scott Frazier and wife, Leslie of Oxford, Ms; and one foster granddaughter, Christy Williamson of Clinton, Ms; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sunday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at Milligan Springs Cemetery in Montgomery County with Rev. Bobby Wagoner officiating.
Burial was directed by Jordan Funeral Home.
