She was born Sept. 20, 1913, in the Town of Arland, Barron County, Wis., the daughter of Fred and Blanche Swant. She grew up in Arland, Wis. She married Ray Francis Carr May 24, 1930, at Barron. She and her
husband farmed in the Town of Maple Grove for many years. She belonged to the Maple Grove Helping Hand club and the Homemakers club. She loved to sew, crochet, and make quilts for her grandchildren. She made many quilts. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Barron, the First Lutheran Ladies Aide and the Altar Guild.
Surviving are sons, Richard (Darlene) Carr, Sr. of Hillsdale and Gerald (Sandy) Carr of Turtle Lake; one daughter, Ardis (Larry) Syndergaard of Kalamazoo, Mich.; one brother, Marvin (Dorothy) Swant of Rice Lake; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 30, 1987; her parents; one son, Stanley Carr; one grandson, Michael Carr; six brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services Saturday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Barron, Rev. Jeff Schlesinger officiating with interment at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
Visitation at the Rausch-Rockman Funeral Chapel in Barron Friday, Dec. 21, from 4-8 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
